Printing and Copying

Printing

There are 4 printers available in the Learning Commons that students can use to print assignments, class handouts and other academic related items. The printers print in black and white only, and will only print on 8.5 x 11 standard copy paper.

How to print

In order to print, you require a valid WEBmail user id and password.

After you log on to a computer, it will automatically be configured to print, so all you will need to do is send the job to the printer.

Once you've sent the document(s) to the printer go to a printer queue station and log in again (using WEBmail id and password). Your print jobs will be listed automatically. Select the document from the list and it should begin to print.

Troubleshooting

If you are having any technical difficulties with a printer, please consult signage posted over the printer, then ask a Computer Support Assistant for help.

Adding money to your print account

You can add money to your account by going to room N205 with your student id.

If you sent a job to the printer and it didn't print, but money came out of your account, please go to room N205.

Be aware . . .

Help cut down on paper consumption – be sure to print only what is necessary. Be sure to use the paper recycle bins available in the Learning Commons.

Copying

The Learning Commons is equipped with one photocopier.

Copies cost 10 cents per page.

Please ensure that your copying complies with the copyright agreement between Access Copyright and both the University of Guelph and Humber ITAL. Copyright guidelines are posted over the copier. Also see the Copyright for Students page for more information on copyright.

If you encounter any technical problems with the copier, please ask the Computer Support Assistants for help.
