User Policies

User conduct and behaviour in the Learning Commons are governed by the following policies:

Noise Policy

Noisy or disruptive behaviour that interferes with the academic learning of other students is not acceptable in the Learning Commons.

Learning Commons staff are required to ensure that the standards of conduct are met in the Learning Commons. If a user is not cooperative in modifying their behaviour, Security will be called.

Food and Drink Policy

To ensure a litter-free learning environment in the Learning Commons at the University of Guelph-Humber building and computer labs. Absolutely no food is allowed near computers, printers, copiers or any other equipment in Learning Commons and computer labs. Students found in violation of this policy will be asked to leave the Learning Commons or computer lab.

Games Policy

Although the Learning Commons is a social environment, students are asked to use the facilities for academic purposes. Please do not use the Learning Commons space to play cards or any other games.

Computers are in high demand at the Learning Commons. We ask that you be considerate of your fellow students and use the computers for research, assignments, checking email, or other academic purposes. Please do not use the Learning Commons computers to play games.

Students found in violation of these policies will be asked to leave the Learning Commons.
