Accessing Services

Guelph-Humber faculty have full access to all library resources at both "parent" institutions as well as at the University of Waterloo, and Wilfrid Laurier University libraries (partners with Guelph in the TriUniversity Group of Libraries, TUG).

Borrowing - How Should I Start?

Come to the Humber Library circulation desk and bring either your University of Guelph Staff ID card, or Humber Library Card (Humber Staff Photo ID will work as well) to register as a patron. We need to activate the barcode on your card and provide you with a PIN. This barcode will allow you to borrow resources from the Humber Media Centre, borrow books, renew, place holds, etc. It will also allow you to access electronic databases remotely.

Borrowing from the University of Guelph and its TUG partners

To borrow books from the University of Guelph and its TUG partners simply find the material you want in TRELLIS. Display the full record and then click on the 'Request item from Trellis' button on the top banner. The system will prompt you to sign in if you have not already done so and provide a simple form to fill out. Choose the 'Hold or Recall' option depending on whether the book is on loan, or in the stacks. To get material delivered to the Guelph-Humber campus select the pick up location as Guelph Humber circulation.

You will be notified by email when your book has arrived at the Humber Circulation desk. Books borrowed should be returned to Humber Library Circulation.

Borrowing from Humber College Library

To borrow books online from Humber Library you must display the full record and then click on the 'Place a Hold' button beside the catalogue entry. The system will ask for your User ID, which is your barcode, and a PIN number which should be the last four digits of your faculty number. If you have a problem contact the circulation desk at (416) 675-5079. You may not be in the system yet, and they will update your status. When the book is available a pink slip with your name on it will be placed on the bulletin board in the circulation department.

  • Loan period is for a term
  • No limit on books borrowed
  • All fines accured must be settled at the Humber circulation desk
