Information Literacy Programs

The Association of College & Research Libraries defines Information Literacy as "the set of skills needed to find, retrieve, analyze, and use information" (ACRL 2000).

Students who acquire these skills, along with research and critical thinking skills are well equipped to achieve academic success.

At Guelph-Humber we strive to impart these skills to our students by:

  • Providing in-class library instruction tailored to course and/or assignments
  • Providing in-class library instruction on RefWorks
  • Providing in-class library instruction on research methods, as well as evaluating sources such as books, articles, and websites
  • Collaborating with faculty to embed information literacy into assignments
  • Creating research subject guides, handouts, and tutorials to help students start their research
  • Provide in-depth reference assistance to your students

If you are interested in any of the above call or e-mail your liaison librarian.
