How do I log into the system for the first time?

When you log on for the first time:

  • Your username is your UofG central ID otherwise known as your webmail user name
  • Your password is: your student number

We highly recommend you change your password and change it regularly in order to protect your account. If you haven't received this information yet, please talk to the staff in Room GH108.

I can't log on to the network because I forgot/lost my username/password.

The staff in room N205 will be able to reset your password.

My WEBmail / WEBadvisor password isn't working.

All password resets for both WEBadvisor and WEBmail are done by the University of Guelph. You can reach them at 519-824-4120 ext 58888. If you have not received a WEBmail or WEBadvisor password, please see Admission and Registrarial Services in GH 108.

I haven't received my student card yet. How do I get online?

Please speak with Admission and Registrarial Services in GH 108.

If you need to user a computer to conduct research, you can go to the Humber Library and ask the reference staff to log you on to a computer.

How do I access the wireless network?

In order to access the GH wireless network, you need to be a registered GH student with a valid WEBmail user ID and password.

To get on the network, you also need a wireless card in your computer that is configured properly to automatically detect any wireless networks.

When you attempt to open a web browser, you will be prompted to enter your user id and password.

How do I access webmail?

You can access WEBmail at https://webmail.uoguelph.ca .

How do I access web-advisor?

You can access WEBadvisor at https://webadvisor.uoguelph.ca .

How do I print?

In order to print, you require a valid WEBmail user id and password.

All computers in the Learning Commons are configured to print, so all you will need to do is send the job to the printer.

Once you've sent the document(s) to the printer go to a printer queue station and log in again (using WEBmail id and password). Your print jobs will be listed automatically. Select the document from the list and it should begin to print.

Where can I scan documents?

The Learning Commons is equipped with a scanner. Please speak with a Computer Support Assistant for help with scanning your documents. Please do not use the computer with the scanner for anything other than scanning (i.e. research, checking webmail, etc.)
